HORTICULTURE CLUB
The UL Horticulture Club is a club to
bring a closer relationship among all students interested
in horticulture and other areas of the Plant Sciences.
The club goals include: promotion of horticulture at local,
state and national levels, promotion of fellowship among
students on at professional and social levels. The club
officers plan for one fall and one spring speaker along
with a field trip scheduled for the spring. Past field
trips include Destin, Florida, Avery Island, Briarwood
Nature Preserve in Natchitoches, Louisiana and others.
Don’t be a dead stick in the mud and become an active
and growing member of the UL Horticulture Club.
Who can become a member of the UL Horticulture
Club? Membership is open to any UL student with an interest
in participating in club activities in the promising field
of horticulture. What can you do with a degree in Landscape
and Horticulture Management or Plant Science? This is what

STUDY LANDSCAPE AND HORTICULTURE
MANAGEMENT AT UL LAFAYETTE
The Landscape and Horticulture Management
specialization is designed for those students who are interested
in maintenance, installation, and landscape design of turfgrass,
trees and shrubs found in the landscape. Graduates may
become involved in planning and maintenance of residential
and commercial landscapes like parks and public areas as
well as engaging in private work to make the environment
more useful and esthetically pleasing. In addition to plant
science course work, major emphasis is placed on business,
personnel management, as well as environmental protection.
These students have interesting and exciting careers in
interior and environmental landscaping, management, production,
and merchandising. Employment opportunities range from
small business to large industries or becoming an entrepreneur.
